A Whole Lotta No Knittin' Goin' On
So this is what I have been doing instead of knitting the past 2 days:That's right...that's a full laundry basket. Every since towel, washcloth, sheet and blanket in my house has been covered in all sorts of nastiness thanks to The Buggernut who contracted her first stomach flu ever and let me hope that it's the last. The poor thing was sick for 24 hours straight. She's doing much better today...we've spent most of the day doing more laundry, spraying everything with Lysol (yes, I said Lysol...I do what's needed in dire emergencies), and cuddling while watching hours of PBS and Animal Planet. I have to say, the nice thing about her being sick...wait, what did I just say?...is that she cuddles. My child is not a cuddler. She never has been. She's an independent spirit who only lets me hold her at bedtime or right after she wakes up. In an attempt to snuggle with her daily, I am sure to get the toddler brush-off...I BUSY MAMA!
Who knew that only a few short hours after this was taken that she would be a miserable babe.
Please wish for a fast recovery and that the Mr. and I don't get it. Oy.
In good mail news...these arrived yesterday in the midst of the sicknessssssssss...
That's right...both Sense & Sensibility and Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen (can you believe I never owned a copy of either!?) and a book Kylee would LOVE...Cocktails for Three by Madeleine Wickham aka Sophie Kinsella (author of the Shopaholic Series). Now let's see if I can balance out the knitting with the reading.
Read or Post a Comment
sending get well wishes your way, hope she recovers quickly and you avoid contracting it!
ahh, you got the book club jane austen books. i have the series and LOVE the covers. and i need to pick up the cocktails book, i have a love/hate relationship with the shopoholic books (could the main character be more absurd? don't you wanna hit her? seriously. but i keep reading cause it is so funny).
oh and that reminded me, on the greys podcast from last week, katherine heigl said she reads chick lit a lot and thought she should buy the option to the shopoholic series (that means the right to make it a movie in hollywood terms, right??).
could this comment be any longer. seriously. ;)
I hope she is feeling better today! I saw her picture and about fell over! Bella had the same shirt from Gymboree and she has the same color and length of hair when she wore it and the same big blue eyes! She looks different, but very simillar too. I don't know if I have ever seen a picture of your sweetie before!
I love Jane Austin. I never tire of those stories. I have picked up Louise May Alcott books again to re-read, but I guess the computer has sucked me in! I am side tracked! happy knitting and good health!
