Jumping Yarn

Seriously, every time I go to the knitting store for something specific, something else automatically jumps into my bag. What's the deal? Really. I have NO WILLPOWER when it comes to all things yummy and fibery (okay, that sounded kind of Metamucil-ish). I went in for some large adjustable stitch markers and one skein of hand dyed yarn for my One Skein Secret Pal swap and walked out with all this:

Yes, that's a bit more than two things. See how I took the picture so everything was smooshed together so it looks like less...right? It does, right?

This will be for my first ever garment. I'm going to make the laceweight tank from One Skein. Instead of Lorna's Laces, I'm using Skacel (yes, the company that makes the brillant Addi Turbo) 100% Laceweight Fine Merino...IT IS HEAVEN. And the color...oh me...that's what did it for me. Pink. Hotness.

And I bought 2 skeins of this...Cascade Cotton Rich to make the Ruffle Purse here:

And this to send to my One Skein Secret Pal who said she REALLY likes blues and wool..I hope she LOVES it!

Such goodness. Oh and I also got some size 2 Bamboo DPN's to cast on another pair of socks....think I can wait another week to buy some more?

I also splurged and bought this today here:

Bad Girl. Bad.

A. That bag is friggin' awesome.

B. Denise's store is so very dangerous.

C. My One Skein person FINALLY emailed me back the questions I sent her tonight. I'd already sent her first skein, a hank of mountain mohair from Green Mountain Spinnery (spinnery.com). I have the second skein all packed and ready to go, because I just went ahead and got it ready at the same time. It's a laceweight mohair. My plan for the project is a scarf like the one I made for Denise as a sample project for the store. In laceweight mohair.

So, I got the email back from her and the ONE thing she specifically mentioned that she hates is furry yarn. Crap! Back to the drawing board!

I love that bag. Awesome. How did you find it?

I never picked my yarn. I'm a bad bad girl.

On a side note, I never understood the love of the Tasty Cake, however a guy I previously worked with was from Philly and had them sent to him frequently. Yet you look darling eating them :)
