Clapotis Groupies Beware...
So I tried. 3 times. I loathe Clapotis. It just wasn't working for me. Maybe if I had no deadline and this could be a year long WIP, then maybe. But I have to work this sucker up fast...and it's not happening. I have ADD when it comes to knitting. I need me some instant grats...know what I mean? The genius that is The Plucky Knitter, who also happens to be my adopted knitting sister...she came up with a plan. We have been talking about doing a knit-a-long together. We were going to do the Clap. See above. Not happening. So, today she sent me a link to this beaut...I saw this up at Jessica's last time Spiff and I went and it was gorgeous. It's also faster and a lot less boring I think. I should still be able to use the Louisa Harding Grace Wool-Silk too. Bonus.
I've also been itching to make something for me. In the 3 years I have been knitting I have yet to make/finish something for myself. Socks are perfect. I really want to make some socks for football season with the custom Philadelphia Eagles colorway that Scout made me last winter...but I have 3 months till preseason, so Plucky and I are going to knit the same socks too...these cuties..2 projects together. Could we be more virtually attached at the hip?
I was told to wait to cast on for both of these until I get a surprise...okay, well not so much of a surprise anymore package from Ms. Plucky. Until then I'm going to whip up a Meathead and a few dishcloths.
Happy Non-Clapotis knitting.

Ya know, don't feel bad at all about not working on the clap. It took me four months to finish, I love it, but probably will not do another. Maybe I could start that shawl with you with the Vera that I have. Would you want a third in the knit-a-long??
girlie - you crack me up!
this will be fun!
I have to admit, I got really bored somewhere in the middle of my Clapotis too. It took a long rest in the UFO pile before I could work up the ambition to finish it. I love the new scarf/shawl you're going to do though - it's going to look great!!
Isn't that the shawl that Debbie was making?
I think it will be yummy in the yarn you have. Clap is evil!
I kinda never started or finished the Clapotis after my Hubby said it looked like a gypsy scarf!!!
I'm glad Plucky got you also to join the KAL we are having...from UK to USA to..wherever you are!!!!We're going to have fun!!!
I have a clapotis that I totally forgot about- it hasn't seen the light of day in about a year. oops!
Sarah is THE BEST- how sweet can you get? :)
