Friday, December 28, 2007Buy some.
Now, let me share another project knit up with Plucky Yarn. Cashmere, to be exact. I bought this yarn several months back with the idea to make my sister, Sara, a cowl for Christmas.
Oh yummmmmmmmy. This was the softest thing I have ever knit up. My sister told me that she has never felt anything so soft and lovely against her skin. I believe it. I'm so glad I have another skein of this in my stash!
Yarn: The Plucky Knitter 2 ply Cashmere Laceweight in Basil Bliss
Needles: Size 8 16" KnitPicks Options Circulars (love these too!)
Pattern: Purl Cashmere Cowl from The Purl Bee blog
Mods: I cast on 110 sts on this...but you could increase or decrease this number based on how large you want the cowl opening to be.

Up today, my sister, Embee's Christmas scarf. I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed working on this project. The yarn was purchased with my sister in mind from WEBS in August. Thanks to Ravelry, I found the perfect pattern and my favorite scarf ever was born. Take a look-see. :)
Pattern: One Row Handspun Scarf by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee (aka The Yarn Harlot)
Yarn: Malabrigo Worsted in Rosa Vivacity
Needles: US 9 straigths - Susan Bates
Mods: none....just added fringe
I hope everyone has a great day tomorrow. I'll be back to post more holiday knitting projects on Wednesday. Blessings.
Thursday, December 6, 2007Martie. Freaking spazz. Where the heck does she think of these things? Or pay people to think up these things? (Sorry, Kel, I know how much you luff her!) Let me tell you... NOT a project to do with your 3 year old unless they are the type that sits quietly while their mother curses Miss Martie to high heavens while pasting with crap craft glue. I'm assuming it's HER brand. I'm all for domestic endeavors, but not when one takes 3 HOURS and is MISSING PIECES. Ah, 'tis the season....but it did turn out cute...including the Little People Reindeer and Noah's Ark sheep, eh?

That's some striping love. Yum. I wore these all day yesterday and they were super comfy.
Yarn: Regia Kaffe Fassett in Landscape Fire
Needles: Size 0 Susan Bates DPNs
Pattern: 2x2 Rib, Slipped Stitch Heel, French Toe - 64 sts for the leg, 68 on the foot
Overall: Love how they turned out...didn't really love the yarn so much. It is splitty when you have to rip back and is kind of scratchy while knitting with it. But the overal result is totally worth it.
