Short and Sweet

We've been incredibly busy at Chez Wannabe for the past few weeks so not much knitting been done! I did finish the One Skein clutch that was a gift to my soon-to-be sister-in-law, Theresa for her graduation present. Take a gander...

This is pre-felting:

And after felting:

Here she is all assembled with me "modeling" her:

And the pretty handmade pin that I bought specifically for this bag here:

I think she really liked it. I knitted this up in black because Theresa loves to wear black and her favorite complimentary color is light pink. I thought this might go great with anything she chose to put on! :)

I'll try to get myself organized and take some pics of some projects that are in the works....one being the Twitterpated bag that I introduced a few posts ago...it's still not done..I need more yarn, handles and lining fabric...I'm hoping to have this done within the next week.

For the love of Tastykakes Sara!

I hope this satisfies Sara...sick woman wanted to see me eating a Tastykake. How embarassing. Snort. Please...I am so kidding. It takes about a millisecond to decide to take totally whacked out pictures of myself gorging myself on the most delish thing on the planet. Seriously though....there are some crazy pictures out there of me eating...check this one out on Sara's blog. Scroll down for the hideous panini bread shot that was taken at Sara's kitchen table a few years back. LOL! :)

Sophie, Tastykakes & A Little Ruffle

Finally Sophie makes her debut after stinking my laundry room to high heavens after several felting cycles. She's a pretty one.

Sophie stuffed with Bath Goodies ready to go to her new owner, my niece, Elise!

I think she likes it!

In goody news....one of the Mr.'s employees went back to Philly for a family visit and brought me back these! O.M.G. Yes, 2 boxes of the most sugary goodness. TASTY-FREAKING-KAKES! One box of Butterscotch Krimpets and one box of Twice Iced Krimpets. Oh dear lord. So much for discipline this week. These bad boys are going to be gone before you know it. The best part...they are going back in 2 weeks and are going to bring me more! What, What!!!

Here's a peek at my little Ruffle Bag that will be finished in the next few days. This is going to the Mr.'s grandma for her 89th birthday in July. She's one of my very favorite people so I hope she likes it. Now...if I can figure out how to line it....

June One Skein Reveal and a Few FO's!

So my One Skein Secret Pal was WAYYYYYY generous and sent not one, but three skeins. Lucky me! They are all gorgeous and varying shades of pinks which I LOVE! But Pal, please email me cause 2 of the skeins are not marked and I'm dying to know gauge and why you chose the skeins you sent to send.

Here are some pics of what she/he sent...

And a few things I whipped up over the past week:

An apple washcloth for my MIL out of green Sugar N Cream Cotton.

And a baby hat made from a leftover half skein of KFI Cashmerino for my neice to use for her baby dolls. :)

Sophie is felted and I hate her. I'm really not happy. I think my neice will like her but if I was to make another I would make her a LOT taller and give her longer handles. Once she is dry and stuffed with bath goodies I will take a pic and hopefully post this weekend. Have a fantastic weekend!

Jumping Yarn

Seriously, every time I go to the knitting store for something specific, something else automatically jumps into my bag. What's the deal? Really. I have NO WILLPOWER when it comes to all things yummy and fibery (okay, that sounded kind of Metamucil-ish). I went in for some large adjustable stitch markers and one skein of hand dyed yarn for my One Skein Secret Pal swap and walked out with all this:

Yes, that's a bit more than two things. See how I took the picture so everything was smooshed together so it looks like less...right? It does, right?

This will be for my first ever garment. I'm going to make the laceweight tank from One Skein. Instead of Lorna's Laces, I'm using Skacel (yes, the company that makes the brillant Addi Turbo) 100% Laceweight Fine Merino...IT IS HEAVEN. And the color...oh me...that's what did it for me. Pink. Hotness.

And I bought 2 skeins of this...Cascade Cotton Rich to make the Ruffle Purse here:

And this to send to my One Skein Secret Pal who said she REALLY likes blues and wool..I hope she LOVES it!

Such goodness. Oh and I also got some size 2 Bamboo DPN's to cast on another pair of socks....think I can wait another week to buy some more?

I also splurged and bought this today here:

Bad Girl. Bad.
